how ive missed you

hello long lost blog. where have i been? actually im not that sure. i can not figure out if i havent visited because there is so little to talk about or perhaps there is so much to report but not nearly enough time.
i would think that there isnt enough time, but that may be because my choice is to sleep constantly. give me an hour or two while the kids are sleeping, and im off to dreamland myself.
why sleep so much when there is a LOT to get done. we are moving in a little over a month and packing has not even crossed my mind. that could be because we didnt hear about financing the new house until yesterday (YAY!!!!! its been approved!) so we havent thought about it as a reality until now. maybe thats the reason for my endless sleeping, knowing that im going to get very little once the packing and moving starts....
maybe its the stress of the fact that at this point, we are going to be carrying two mortgages. its kind of a long story about this new house hunt and purchase. it kind of happened out of the blue, fell into our laps, and then we found THE house immediately and had to jump at the chance. we would really like to sell our house quickly, but we are also being very aware of WHO will buy our house. we know its not possible to have a screening, a full exam of the new purchasers, but this house is where we started our family. this house is where we have made our best friends. this house we love! if we could transplant it to a different school district (house, street, neighbors, all), there is no chance we would be moving. but, alas, levi is turning 5 in september and we had to start thinking about school. thats for another day and time (if i take a few minutes and postpone my napping).
our decision to move actually was given some credence a couple days ago when jeff ran into a neighbor whose one child is in 1st grade at the local elementary school and whose other son will be starting kindergarten in the fall. the neighborhood school is now on a "watch list". ???? supposedly its one of the good ones in the district, so what does this mean? the school/district has actually given students the opportunity to leave this particular school and go to a different one in the district. weird- right? well, it gets weirder. this choice is only being offered to the "lower income" students, in an effort to rid the school of the kids who are bringing the test scores down. SERIOUSLY? is this legal? test scores, test scores. yadda yadda yadda. elementary schools should not care as much about scores. shouldnt the goal be to instill the love of learning? to have a good balance of education and play?.....but, too much to ask at this time and too many questions that may never get answered. its all for a different day and time.
so, hello blog. im back. i guess i'll write more often. i promise.
