triangles

for Tali's birthday, which happened to fall on purim (the jewish holiday where you eat TRIANGULAR food to represent the three cornered hat of Haman- the bad guy in the story of Queen Esther), we had a bunch of people over to eat lots of triangles.....
jeff had a "make your own hamentashen" station (triangular cookies filled with jelly or chocolate).
we ordered pizza from dewey's (cut into nice triangular slices).
i *made* (heated) spanikopita.
and i *made* (heated) my NEW FAVORITE SNACK......

I had them at book club a few times and they were absolutely delicious. spicy, indian, easy! (and triangular, of course!).
they were such a hit, not a single one was left, and people kept asking where they were from (or if i had made them- i should have LIED and gotten everyone to think i was the best cook around!).
since that party, we have been back to the indian store once more, to stock our freezer with samosas for us to snack on or serve for guests. in addition to the spinach-paneer version, we also got the spicy lentil version which were just as amazing.
i think ive found my new food obsession. they come in little packs of 4, frozen, packaged, and perfect to take with me to work for lunch, to heat in the toaster. hopefully, i wont get sick of all the samosas i now devour.
