back pain. numbness. yoga.

i have a lot of issues. i know- everyone has issues- but my issues are becoming more and more medical. not only do i have 3 herniated discs in my back (1 lumbar, 2 cervical) but i have cervical stenosis, hyperreflexia, and weakness. seriously, the hyperreflexia is kind of cool- if youre the medical type. i'd be a prime subject for a med student neuro exam. hit my knee with your finger lightly, and watch out- you may just get kicked with not only one leg but both.
ive seen a lot of doctors. ive been punted from one to another to another, until ive seen the top of the top and there is nowhere else to go but down. i guess the concensus is that all of my symptoms are related to my neck. but, since its not so bad that i am bedbound, since im still able to shuffle my way through the day seeing patients and since im still seemingly surviving, there is nothing to do about it. YET.
ive been told if things get worse, i have to come back. if my symptoms progress, then maybe they'll fix me. the fix- a big ass surgery. do i want that? NO. but as the days and weeks and months pass, im not sure if my symptoms worsening are enough to jump up and say lets do something now. what is my breaking point? when are my struggles enough to warrant the risks ahead?
each night, i wake up 2-3 times with my arms numb from the shoulder to the fingers. im not allowed to run or jump or ski or bike or do anything with a risk of falling. i need to lose weight, and yes- diet has a ton to do with that, but the other huge factor is exercise and im finding it hard to do what i need to do without running into trouble. im so weak i cant lift things. i cant even open a jar of spaghetti sauce. i cant twist and turn and bend. i cant do anything with pounding on my feet. if i workout, the entire night and day following, my arms especially but also my legs are shaking and so weak i can hardly move.
im trying yoga. hopefully thats the trick. but will it hurt me more, trying to get my body in different poses? i'd love some advice. and a quick fix. i know i wont get that, so i guess i'll take all the advice i can get.

Assistive technology services help people to select, buy and use assistive technology devices. This could include a pre-purchase evaluation to help determine which devices best fit their individual needs, training on how to use the devices after acquiring them and providing maintenance and repair.
nice article.
